Lady Gaga sings for Kiwi newlyweds

Lady Gaga has surprised a newlywed Kiwi couple by serenading them at a London bar.

The impromptu performance occurred when backpackers Ewan and Julie Searle, both 25, were enjoying a drink to toast their recent wedding vows at The Raven in Chiswick, West London.

The pair – originally from New Zealand - were shocked when the kooky 24-year-old singer arrived in the bar and asked what they were celebrating. When Lady Gaga discovered they had recently married, she decided a serenade was in order.

"It was unbelievable. We were toasting our future by drinking champagne and beer with some guys we met in the hostel we were staying at,” Julie told British newspaper The Sun.

"I said...'We got married.' She said, 'That calls for a song.' She asked if anyone could play the guitar. A French friend called Sam - one of the guys from the hostel - rushed back to get his.

"After he came back he spoke with her and her people and they played Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones for us in the back room.”

Julie was thrilled with the performance and says Lady Gaga looked fabulous in a cerise dress.

The newlyweds only regret is that she didn’t get to capture the star’s performance on camera as Lady Gaga’s team prevented them from capturing the magical moment.

"She was really cool but her entourage stopped anyone recording it. I would have liked a reminder, but then I'm sure I'll never forget it," beamed Julie.
