The wax models are being created in London at a cost of £1.2m and will be launched simultaneously in London, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Berlin, Amsterdam, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
“She is the perfect subject for the biggest figure launch in Madame Tussauds' history,” a spokeswoman said of the Poker Face star, adding that the wax models would be “classic GaGa”.
The wax dummies will each wear a different outfit made famous by the lady herself, including the lace body stocking and Marie Antoinette wig she wore at this year’s Brit Awards, and a body suit with Minnie Mouse-style buns the star donned on a visit to the Radio 1 studios.
Fans will have to wait until the launch day to find out which figure will be displayed in which city, but it’s been confirmed that the meat frock the Bad Romance singer famously wore at the MTV Video Music Awards will not feature.
In other GaGa news, she visited Abbey Road Studios in London this week to record vocals for her forthcoming album, Born This Way. The album is set for release early next year.
