Lady Gaga devastated

Pop superstar Lady Gaga has revealed that she was devastated by Amy Winehouse's death - so much so that she couldn't speak for 48 hours after she heard the tragic news.

Appearing on The View, the singer spoke of her grief, even though she never met the Back To Black singer.

She said, "I am just so devastated and so sad and I really could not speak for 48 hours straight I was in such shock."

Lady Gaga also expressed her deep sorrow on Twitter, writing, "Amy changed pop music forever, I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues."

Like Amy, Gaga is no stranger to drug-use, and has admitted to doing hard drugs in the past. But that's all behind her.

In an interview with Howard Stern last month, she took a hard line on drugs, telling the host, "I regret every line I ever did. So to all of the little sweethearts who are listening - don't ever touch it. It's the devil."
